Our process begins with sourcing true French European Oak from Nancy, France, where we have been fortunate enough to build an unique and wonderful working relationship with a fantastic European family that runs a mill and forestry for French Oak in the Lorraine region of France.
The relationship with our friends in Nancy is paramount to what we do. Trust is important; getting to know our French counterparts has taken time and patience. Not many manufacturers of wood flooring, much less anything else, can say that they consummate their business relationships over a bottle of wine at their suppliers home with family, friends, and true french artisan fare.
These trees are magnificent and selected with passion and care to ensure that this valuable French resource is preserved for future generations to come. It is of up most importance to BoardHouse to work with those suppliers that have a love for what they do and respect the resources from which they built their livelihood around.
BoardHouse imports logs that we select in person during the harvesting season. These logs are so massive that they have to be milled down to fit into our are shipping containers. Every board is milled and dried in Los Angeles by BoardHouse to ensure perfection. We finish the Manor European Oak with new and old world techniques creating true works of art!
