Where do designers who work with BoardHouse find their inspiration?
For many, it is the culmination of their experience that shapes the way they see the world.
“They see design in everything,” says BoardHouse’s owner Christine Meyer.
BoardHouse partners with creative designers from around the country who are able to transform a typical home space into a cohesive vision that suits the owners’ aesthetics. From sweeping tones and textures to the tiniest details, designers have the ability to put together a thoughtful palette for an entire home.
Many times, those palettes begin with the foundation of a BoardHouse floor, because of its unique abilities to match color, texture and style to even the most exacting request. Ideas for these collaborations can come from anywhere — a print in an old book, a walk along a scenic path, a piece of driftwood or any other object that might have special meaning to a homeowner. Through a designer’s eyes, a singular piece can be the root of the entire look of a home. Although sourcing a unique effect can be difficult, a designer will search tirelessly for something one-of-a-kind.
It’s not as easy as simply strolling into a big-box store to find the floor that perfectly matches the autumn leaves that fell off your grandmother’s backyard apple tree.
“A designer can be so particular about color, trends. They can look at an object and see an element of inspiration,” says BoardHouse’s Meyer. “We can then craft something new that recreates its memory. We can envision and create a completely custom setting for that.”
Designers see the world through a different lens, full of details and unique objects that can spark imagination and transform a personal space. A home is a collection of shared experiences and it is BoardHouse’s mission to craft an elegant and unique space in which to continue to create memories.
